A nice example of a large early 20th century taxidermy specimen case of two large Pike, mounted in a bow fronted glass case with painted wooden gold border. The interior of the case has a blue backboard, the fish mounted in a naturalistic setting of reeds and river plants and pebble/rock base. To the lower front of the case, a description painted as follows: 'Caught by E Lane, in the Thames Mapeldurham March 7th 1926. Wgt 12 lbs each. This case can either be secured to a wall or be displayed as a freestanding piece. This case is in very good original condition. A rare find.
